Imagine sitting in the front seat of a sailplane flying low over fields, wings tipping as you lift into the air over the mountain waves searching for warm-air thermals, circling upwards in altitude into the sky to fly one with the birds. This is my tribute to my husband, a g lider pilot and those who sail the winds, engine-free. They “dance the skies on laughter-silvered wings, climbing sunward, joining the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds to reach out and touch the face of God”.
